The VIP-WECO pipe repair seal is a no-dig mechanical sealing system designed to permanently rehabilitate defective pipe joints, cracks and infiltration without excavation. Manufactured using WRAS-approved materials and compliant with BS 6920, the system delivers long-term structural sealing with a typical service life exceeding 100 years.

During installation, a rubber sleeve —manufactured from EPDM or Nitrile compounds—is positioned over the damaged section / joint of the pipe’s internal wall,  and secured using stainless steel retaining bands in either 304/316/Duplex grades. This mechanical arrangement allows the system to withstand internal pressures of up to 25 bar and external pressures of up to 6.0 bar.

This trenchless pipe repair solution is suitable for gravity and pressure pipelines and can be installed in live systems with minimal disruption.  Once installed, the VIP-WECO system provides a safe, durable, and cost-effective mechanical sealing solution, with a typical installation time of approximately 40 minutes per seal.

For specialist applications, including longitudinal cracking or environments involving aggressive chemicals or infiltration risk, bespoke sealing solutions can be designed and manufactured to suit specific project requirements.
