WRAS approved material and fully compliant with BS6920/DWI Reg31 (4)(a)
VIP-WECO Proline® is a WRAS approved pipe repair seal designed specifically for drinking water and potable water pipeline rehabilitation. Fully compliant with BS 6920 and DWI Regulation 31 (4)(a), the system provides a safe, durable and mechanically secured sealing solution for water mains and pressurised pipe systems.
VIP-Weco Proline use WRAS approved material, comply fully with BS6920 / DWI Reg 31 (4)(a) and have a typical life expectancy of 100+ years.
During installation, a rubber sleeve —manufactured from EPDM or Nitrile compounds—is positioned over the damaged section / joint of the pipe’s internal wall with an additional rubber lining that runs the length of the repair.
Stainless steel sheeting is then placed over the sleeve and lining and secured using stainless steel retaining bands in either 304/316/Duplex grades. This mechanical arrangement allows the system to withstand internal pressures of up to 25 bar and external pressures of up to 2.5 bar.
The addition of the stainless steel sheet over the seals and lining reduces the overall percentage contact of the drinking water to the rubber allowing for the hybrid system to comply with BS6920 / DWI Reg31 (4)(a)
Once the VIP-Weco Proline is installed, a safe, durable and low-cost mechanical sealing solution is achieved.
